Meet our Team
Dr. Tennant is completing her postdoctoral research fellowship in the area of nutrition & Parkinson’s disease. She graduated in June 2015 with a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine with honors in research from the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon. She is also a Certified Nutrition Specialist.
She is passionate about health, wellness, fitness and the opportunity create large scale impact from individuals, families to communities. Some of her special interests include neurodegenerative conditions and sports medicine. Dr. Tennant has worked with the Brian Grant Foundation for the past 3 years in various capacities including nutrition expert at their signature Wellness Retreats, executive committee member and is currently serving on their Wellness Advisory Panel. She recently became Health & Wellness Advisor to former NBA player, Nike N7 Ambassador Damen Bell-Holter’s camp and clinic organization, Blessed to Bless.
Her favorite aspect of working with InDeed Wellness is finding creative ways to help individuals be successful with their health goals.
In addition, she loves to travel having been to the Czech Republic and Zambia as a pre-med student, Suriname South America as Peace Corps Volunteer (Community Health Educator) and most recently to Nicaragua to work in a medical clinic.
Dr. Scott Treatman is a recent transplant to Vero Beach, FL from frigid upstate NY. He is Board Certified in Occupational Medicine, Family Practice, Certified in Medical Acupuncture and is a registered medical marijuana prescriber in Florida and New York.
Scott is also an expert in, and a teacher of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction programs. He has facilitated community-based programs, programs for teachers, healthcare providers, behavioral counselors and corporations. Dr. Treatman has co-authored studies in partnership with the Syracuse VA system, having done research on MBSR training for Veterans with PTSD which demonstrated decreased salivary cortisol levels, improvement in sleep, and decreases in substance use in Vets that completed MBSR training vs. a control group.
He has been teaching a variety of mindfulness-based stress reduction programs since 1997 and has trained hundreds of lay and professional people in this way of living. Most participants report a life-changing experience in how they handle circumstances and events that have previously been considered stressful.
Scott did his mindfulness training through the UMass Medical Center with Jon Kabat-Zinn who founded the UMass Center for Mindfulness where the first Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program was launched and has since spread around the globe.
Mary is a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (FNTP), Certified Yoga Instructor, Transformational Breath & Sound Facilitator, and Reiki Master. As a Holistic Nutritionist with a background and passion for movement, sound, and energy healing, Mary supports clients using a wide range of healing modalities. Receiving an advanced cancer diagnosis as a young adult catapulted her to navigate both the western medical system and holistic health world for many years. The accumulation of ongoing alternative medicine research, certifications, and experiences ultimately led her to support others in their personal health journey. When working with clients, Mary’s goal is to take a bio-individual (customized) approach and guide each person to strengthen self-awareness, believe in themselves, and trust their own intuition.
Currently, Mary resides in the mountains of Costa Rica. She loves spending time in nature and with animals, teaching yoga in the jungle, and sharing the healing frequencies of crystal sound bowls. She is passionate about regenerative farming, and enjoys creating and sharing healthy recipes. Mary is grateful and excited to be the newest addition to the InDeed Wellness team!
As a therapist, author, healer and workshop presenter, Tammy has worked in a variety of settings, with many different populations during the past 25 years. Tammy earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology /Social Work from the College of Saint Rose, and a master’s degree in Social Work from the State University of Albany. In addition to her degrees, Tammy is a certified practitioner of Energy Psychology, Energy Medicine, Reiki, and Akashic Records.
Tammy has a private practice, Balance Energy Wellness located in Johnstown, NY. She also provides services to people remotely. Her treatment approach is holistic, with a blend of complementary therapies incorporated to meet the needs of people seeking guidance. Her approach is one of honoring where a person is on their life journey and path and assisting in guiding them to reach their next level.
Tammy believes that we all posses the ability to heal and come back into balance in our lives. We simply need to remember how to tap into the innate wisdom of the body, and welcome the state of peace, joy, gratitude, and love.
Bret Johnson is the founder and President of InDeed Wellness. He has worked in the wellness industry for over 20 years and has had the opportunity to talk with thousands of employees who have shared their successes and challenges in navigating their personal paths to optimal health
In 2014 Bret began studying longevity and has spent extensive time in 3 of the 5 Blue Zones in the world where people live longer than anywhere else on Earth. He has taken what he has learned from his interactions and observations during his travels to integrate some of the secrets of longevity into InDeed Wellness programming.
Bret enjoys sharing what he has learned about health and wellness with individuals and groups through online wellness talks and one to one health counseling. He currently resides in Costa Rica where he continues his research into longevity and happiness.
