There are lots of reasons to follow healthy lifestyle habits. They prevent disease, help to maintain our energy levels so we can be productive at work and help to maintain a healthy balance, mentally and emotionally. Those who live a healthy lifestyle engage in physical activities and good nutrition. When we consider self-care, many miss out on spiritual self-care. This talk is an opportunity to learn about and practice self-compassion. We tend to forget ourselves when it comes to comforting and cutting ourselves some slack.

In our WellnessTalk, The Practice of Self-Compassion, Dr. Scott Treatman will introduce and discuss the concepts of self compassion and loving kindness. He will look at common ways we beat ourselves up and impact both our spiritual and physical wellbeing. Dr. Scott will also use experiential exercises to demonstrate how a practice of loving kindness can be implemented in our daily lives and the effect that practice can have on reducing suffering and expanding our experience of happiness.
